The Ebury Strollers Cricket Club (ESCC) was founded in the early 1980's. Legend has it that the founders were fed up with league cricket having felt the spirit of the game was in jeopardy.
Initially, with no ground at which to play, the team adopted the "Strollers" moniker, "Ebury" comes from the Ebury Roundabout in Rickmansworth at which the original Strollers met before each game.
While the Strollers have entered various cup competitions over the years, the club ethos is to play friendly matches (normally on Sundays). The Strollers play around 25 matches per season (including a club tour) usually in a 40-over or timed style.
The Strollers play their home games at Chesham Cricket Club in Buckinghamshire, a relationship approaching nearly 10 years.
